Over 16 years at New York's 50,000 watt WBAI-FM, he interviewed such superstars as Cyndi Lauper, film icon Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Lloyd Price, Ultimate Fighting ace Royce Gracie and wrestling champions Bruno Sammartino, Lou Thesz, Verne Gagne, Fred Blassie, Eddie Guerrero, Killer Kowalski and innumerable other greats. GOPHERLAND GRAPPLING - THE EARLY YEARS is a historical look back at pro wrestling in the state of Minnesota, Authored by JAMES C. MELBY, the book covers the sport from 1933 to 1959, with a historical perspective of the promoters, matches, and participants in the wrestling game of that time period.
